MODEL UN CONTEST  2018

 

 

ATTENTION MODEL UN STUDENTS

 

You have a chance to win money for your high school Model UN Club! 
1st prize is $500, 2nd prize is $350 and 3rd prize is $250.              

 

ISSUE

 

What can the Member Nations of the UN do that might get North Korea to eliminate their nuclear weapons and ballistic missile provocations?

• Discuss what additional forms of deterrence could be used, beyond the current sanctions, that all member nations would agree to.

• Discuss which members nations should provide the leadership and why.

• Discuss how a dialogue might begin and what a realistic settlement might look like.

You do NOT have to write from the perspective of the country you're representing.

Applications should include the name of your school and your coach, a brief description of your proposal (300 words or less), a proposed timeline, and the metrics you are using to measure success of your awareness building,

Winners will be announced at the Model UN Awards Ceremony on March 9, 2017.  Money may be spent however the MUN club's coach feels is appropriate.
